What a kitchen remodel includes

A refresh keeps the layout. A remodel can move the sink, the range, and the walls.

  • Design. Layout, storage, and a drawing before demolition.
  • Cabinets. New custom cabinets, or a factory refinish of the ones you have.
  • Surfaces. Quartz, granite, marble, or quartzite, plus the backsplash.
  • Trades. Plumbing, electrical, and permits when the plan changes them.
  • Finishes. Flooring, paint, lighting, and hardware.
  • A schedule. You know which week the kitchen is out of service.

Why homeowners hire one contractor for the kitchen

The finish only looks right if the same person owns the handoff from demo to the last piece of trim.

Design before demo

We plan the layout, cabinets, and materials before anything comes out, so the quote matches the kitchen you approved.

Refinish or replace

Oil-based primer and two self-leveling coats. Refinishing runs about half to a third the cost of new cabinets, and it takes 1–2 weeks.

Counters without the showroom wait

Quartz, granite, marble, and quartzite through our suppliers. Template to install is typically one week.

The trades stay in the contract

Moving a sink, adding circuits, or opening a wall stays with us. You are not hiring a second contractor mid-job.

How a kitchen project runs

Most homeowners stay in the house. The kitchen itself is down for the demo and cabinet set.

Three ways to scope the kitchen

We recommend one of these after we see the room, not from a photo.

Refresh

Keep the layout and the cabinet boxes.

  • Cabinet refinishing, typically $3,000–$8,000
  • New counters
  • Backsplash in 1–2 days
  • Hardware and lighting
  • Often $15,000–$25,000 all in

Rebuild

The layout changes.

  • Walls, sink, or range moved
  • New electrical and plumbing
  • Permits where the work requires them
  • Premium finishes and appliances
  • Often $75,000–$100,000+

Not sure which scope fits? We look at the kitchen and recommend only the work it needs.

Questions we answer on the walkthrough

How much does a kitchen remodel cost?

A refresh with refinished cabinets, counters, and a backsplash often lands around $15,000–$25,000. A mid-range remodel with new cabinets is commonly $40,000–$60,000. Layout changes and premium materials can pass $100,000. Cabinet refinishing by itself is often $3,000–$8,000.

How long does it take?

Cabinet refinishing takes 1–2 weeks. Counters are typically one week from template to install. A backsplash is 1–2 days. A full remodel with layout changes runs 6–12 weeks, depending on materials and permits.

Can I live in the house during the remodel?

Yes. Most homeowners stay. We set up a temporary kitchen. The room itself is out of service for about 1–3 weeks during demo and the cabinet set.

Should I refinish the cabinets or replace them?

Refinish when the boxes are solid and you want a new color. That is usually 50–70% less than replacement. Replace when the boxes are failing, the layout is wrong, or you need different storage.

What is the difference between quartz and granite?

Quartz is engineered, non-porous, and does not need sealing. Granite is natural stone with a unique pattern, and it needs sealing. Installed, quartz often runs $60–$100 per square foot and granite $50–$80.

Do you handle plumbing, electrical, and permits?

Yes. Sink moves, dishwasher and gas lines, new circuits, lighting, and the permits those changes require stay in our scope.
